I'm working full time this summer, staying in Ottawa. The second part is excellent for writing, but the first part...not so much. But the next update will most likely be two chapters, because some scenes came out scrambled and had to be reordered. I'm at a stage where I have so much to write that I don't know what should come first, and I'm also really regretting the decision to post as I go -- there's a lot I would like to go back and change.

But I have long bus rides every day, going downtown to my government job from the suburbs, and the bus is a good place to sit and mull over plot problems. Mull, mull, mull. Writing on the bus doesn't work so well, although I've done that. The other plus is that I'm staying with relatives, and am steeping in all their various quirky Maritime speech patterns. Joel has an Irish-Catholic Maritimer family partially because I just love writing that dialogue. My cousin Greg at dinner referred to the Pope as "ugly as a hedge fence", and I don't even know what that means. Hedges are very attractive, aren't they? ;-P (Could it be a reference to enclosure, or am I just a nerd?)

Anyway, updates soon.
