The Marvel rule sometimes seems to be "Xavier's mansion has whatever it needs to have for the story", but let's at least try to be consistent.

Although it we didn't see it in the movie (that I recall), a number of fics describe the X-mansion as being near water (I know Special had a boathouse, for instance). What body of water would this be? The Hudson, or some smaller tributary of it? Certainly not the ocean?

I vaguely remember seeing some maps of the mansion grounds at one point that did feature water, but the site that housed them is down. Help?

There's some ridiculously large body of water beside the mansion in the X-Men: Evolution cartoons and the Blackbird launches not through the basketball court but through a freakin' waterfall over this body of water!

Oh yeah, I totally forgot about that until just now. Despite the fact that I have an odd fondness for the Evolution cartoon. Probably just because I love Goth!Rogue and Crazy Wanda.

I'm almost through watching my bootleg of the whole Evo series. All in all, it pleases me. There is a lack of consistentcy and too much complacent cuteness, but some of the variations on X mythology work really well and there is a general sense of commitment and passion to the project, especially after the world becomes aware of mutant kind. I like the versions of Logan, Rogue, Kurt, Ororo and Kitty a lot as well as the series' willingness to let stories (like Evan's secondary mutation and his joining the Morlocks) play out over years -- something unexpected in a Saturday morning cartoon.
