Can't even remember my own story

Reason why I am dumb #452: There's always a scene that I love, and then I take it out because I sensibly realise that it doesn't quite work, and then later I forget that I took it out and start writing as though the audience knows the part I cut out. This always, always happens when I write long pieces, and I have yet to find an information management system that works. Right now I keep careful notes which I then lose, and obviously that won't do.

And you guys aren't much of a meme crowd, but I thought I'd throw it out there anyway, because I found this meme delightful (via minisinoo):

Ask any of the characters from any of my fics a question, and they will answer. Possibly even honestly.

I believe that it is a positive sort of challenge, as opposed to simply a mystery that I wish to solve, because I am realising that I've allowed a number of my therapeutic skills to atrophy over the years. I've learned that I cannot depend on my telepathy to always bridge the gaps between individuals.

That said, I must admit that approaching Joel as a mystery to be solved, or a nut to be cracked, has not yielded good results so far.
